I am alone.
I didn't notice until now
that all the lights have gone down
and something's spinning round
and round my room.
It must be my mind
trying to refrain
from kissing every wall.
I'm afraid of what's beyond
the open door.
Grandfather sits by the window.
He doesn't say a word. So I close my eyes once opened,
as each hand reveals what it can
to betray my faith in time. I am a child.
Little do I know
that one day I will grow
to understand this sick
and mad disease.
I do not fit
into this world
with all it's silly rules;
telling me that
"nothing" isn't real.
Grandfather sits by the window.
He doesn't say a word.
So I close my eyes once opened,
as each hand reveals what it can
to betray my faith in time.
