PERSONAL PRODUCTION SERVICES

Are you a singer, artist, or band who is looking for someone insightful and innovative to help you write, produce, record, edit, mix, and/or master your next (or first) song or project? Someone who knows how to liberate and capture your inner-most authentic artistic genius and strongest emotional power?

If so, I'd love to talk with you about your artistic vision and your next (or first) song or project!

AN OVERVIEW OF HOW I LIKE TO WORK

1) You tell me about yourself/s as an artist/band, the song you want to record, and your artistic vision for it.
If desired, I can help you choose (or co-write) the right song for your voice, your style, and your artistic vision.

2) I create a "production proposal" (a production plan with costs) for you. We discuss and modify as necessary.
Once an agreement is reached, I ask for a 50% deposit. The remainder will be due when the song is finished.

3) If determined to be part of the production plan; the song will be written or co-written, refined, and/or arranged.

4) You will prepare to deliver your personal best and any required 3rd party talent/instruments will be arranged.

5) We will record/track/program and edit the song. Scratch vocals will be recorded early and sculpted around.
This is often a non-linear, inspiration-based sculpting process; more than a linear, predetermined process.

6) Once the song is essentially fully developed, we will record/track/program and edit the final vocal track/s.

8) We will refine and sweeten the song until it create as much emotional energy for the listener as possible.

7) We will refine the "mix". Good use of compression, EQ, and appropriate effects is the secret to a great mix.

9) I will "master" your song and properly prepare it for whatever its ultimate destination is. An exciting step!
Unless special arrangements have been made, remaining fees are now due. You will receive the "master".

10) Now it's time to ENJOY YOUR NEW SONG and realize just how awesome you really are!!!

WHAT GENRES OF MUSIC DO YOU DO?

As your producer, my job is to tune into you and your artistic vision. We will go wherever you want to go!

And, yes, I am familiar with modern beat programming, hard tuning, etc. I can speak Akai MPC, Ableton, etc.

WHAT IS THE KEY TO A TRULY GREAT SONG?

A diverse display of astonishing technical skills is of little value to most listeners; instead, listeners want to hear songs that make them feel alive. Said differently, it isn't how it was created; it's how it makes a listener FEEL.

WHAT IF THE SONG I WANT TO RECORD IS NOT 100% WRITTEN?

If you are having trouble finishing the writing of the song/s you want to record, I can help you by providing honest feedback, unexpected inspiration, co-writing (if desired), arrangement and instrumentation suggestions, etc. Don't let troublesome songs languish in the back of your mind! The time has come to finish them!

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO HIRE YOU TO BE MY PRODUCER?

My production fees are extremely reasonable and negotiated on a case by case basis according to your specific needs and desires. Please note that the cost of a "Full Production" package includes my recording, editing, mixing, and mastering costs; but I am also happy to let you, or others, do any/all of those parts.

I am currently living near Boise, Idaho; but willing to travel almost anywhere. Also note that in many cases it is possible to work together effectively without physically meeting. LET'S TALK!
