Yes, Idaho is awesome! It's beautiful, rugged, full of fresh water and wildlife, and offers self-responsible freedom-loving people a unique opportunity to improve themselves, build strong relationships with others, and prepare for whatever the future may hold. It's no surprise that the number of preppers, survivalists, and homesteaders in Idaho is exploding!

And yet, many of us are "lone wolves" who, for various sets of reasons, have found it difficult to connect with like-minded people and resources.

My name is Soren Sorensen and I am a prepper, survivalist, and real estate agent*. I created the Idaho Preppers Network so that like-minded Idahoans can more easily find each other, socialize with each other, teach each other, train each other, form teams, prepare together, and thrive together.

What is a PREPPER?

A prepper is someone who prepares for any chosen potential situation, most commonly for the potential short or long term failure of systems and resources that one normally relies upon. For instance, a prepper will often start by storing potable water and non-perishable food; but preparing can go infinitely further than simply stockpiling.

A prepper can also be a survivalist and/or a homesteader.

What is a SURVIVALIST?

A survivalist is someone who trains to survive indefinitely with little or no initial equipment and supplies. For instance, in theory, an advanced survivalist could simply walk into a wooded forest and survive indefinitely.

What is a HOMESTEADER?

A homesteader is someone who lives on land that they develop and work in order to live as self-sufficiently as possible. Homesteaders often have their own source of water, cultivated gardens, and various farm animals.

What is a "TEAM"? And how do I join or create one?

A team is a group of two or more people who decide to join forces in order to better prepare and thrive (in both good times and bad times). I recommend that you don't ask to join anyone's already existing team; but rather ask others to join yours. It's ok to let others know that you are available, but there is rarely a good reason to simply wait to be chosen. Instead, get to know others and extend an invitation when it makes sense to you to do so.

GOING BEYOND "TEAMS": My thoughts about PATRIOT MILITIA GROUPS

If you ever decide that you want to join or create a freedom-defending patriot militia group, proceed with extreme caution. As history demonstrates, it is extremely easy to get caught up in a highly emotional, highly immoral, and highly ineffective course of action that does not age well for anyone involved. Yes, I believe that freedom is fundamentally important and, yes, I believe that freedom is critically threatened; but please make sure that you truly understand the problem at hand and the solution you intend to implement. That said, I absolutely do support moral and effective freedom-defending patriot militia activities. That is how the we became free in the first place!

Something to think about: Yes, the hidden agendas of the most powerful people in the world are a major threat to freedom; but without sufficient technology, they are largely impotent. Citizens were first controlled by violence (which is obviously labor intensive and that labor must be controlled); and then by the rule and color of law (which is also labor intensive, but much less so). Soon, citizens will be controlled by hidden settings in their hidden digital profiles (aka digital IDs), which will dictate their access to rights, privileges, experiences, services, and supplies of every kind (including money). And eventually, citizens will have their brain activity directly monitored and managed. This kind of technology will allow extreme control with ever less labor!
